LCWOSB, Our Story Our family and the creator, Amanda Grady
Our LCWOSB story began in 2012 with 3 vendor friends, a couple card tables in my tiny little living room. My goal was to help us mommas have an opportunity to bring in some extra holiday cash by selling our Christmas crafts. We invited the neighborhood, our family, close girlfriends to shop AND the night turned into a huge success. As the event grew, more women wanted to join us. We soon out grew my little living room and into our garage. Then into a couple large wedding tents and out grew our 11 acre farm. In 2021 we were invited to host this successfully growing event at the Licking County Hartford Fairgrounds. This temporary location allowed us to continue to grow and thereby offer greater opportunities to local vendors and shoppers as we maintained our search for the "perfect" combination of convienence, comfort, and location in a clean modern venue. We sincerely thank all who came out to support our sellers during those 3 years and invite everyone to come and enjoy this year's event at our new home at Heath High School. As the years went by, I discovered there was a major need to host as many small business women in our community as I could. LCWOSB has become a year after year holiday tradition for friends and family to enjoy. Our holiday market gives local small business women a platform to market their business in our community. This has developed our motto “When women support women, amazing things happen!” The Hostess, Amanda Grady: I’m a mother of 4, a wife, a nurse an entrepreneur and a small business owner. I grew up in a hard working family environment. We were taught very early in life if you want to be successful; you must work hard! My business story started at the age of 10. My Dad sat myself and 3 sisters down and pitched a great business opportunity. Dad said, "Who wants to paint faces at the local fairs?" I quickly realized at 10, it was an excellant business plan and I was all in! Over the next few years I would set up at the local fairs, flea markets and shows and paint faces all summer. I realized the value of financial freedom (my dad let me keep all my earnings) and at 10 I enjoyed having my own money. “The LCWOSB Platform” The Licking County Women of Small Business (LCWOSB) is an upscale “Women Helping Women” inspired market. We host women from all over Central Ohio who create, market and sell as a part of a small business. We specialize in trending home décor, original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, outdoor/indoor furnishings, upcycle furniture, seasonal plantings, food & so much more. LCWOSB is a one day event held in October to kick off holiday shopping. LCWOSB is now known around town as the annual “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Day Out!" Grab your girlfriends and head to Heath High School for a fun day of holiday shopping.. Thank you all for helping and supporting so many Licking County and Central Ohio women of business and helping to make THEIR dreams be successful!
